Disadvantage: takes up extra space.
Advantage: if you need it, the two different environments may be useful.

I'll have two computers, but only one Gf4 card. It would be nice to use Win98 for games, if WinXP can't or don't play them as well. Also, seems like a good way to compare the two OS. I'll have 120Gb, so I'll have plenty of space. I won't be able to turn on my computer and walk away, until I choice an OS, also one BIOS setting may work for one OS and maybe not so well for another. But that's all I can think of. Thanks for your reply. If there are no objections, I may just dual boot.

I agree with Arrow. Space.

I trim/neuter my Winme partition down to 550 meg. That's with a 150meg swap file and about 150meg free (for defragging).

It's strictly for gaming.

Should I worry about space with 120Gb HDD? Not sure if I follow you.

With regard to turning on your computer and walking away, you can set it to automatically boot into a particular OS after an X number of seconds.
Even with 120GB, you may want to keep space in mind. I'd definitely recommend you have more than just the two partitions for Windows 98 and Windows XP. I used to think 60GB was a lot - but unfortunately I now find myself deleting things to make more space!

What I'm trying to figure out is such.
I like to have two partition, one for each OS. Also, I want to keep the OS to a minim, and store games and such on another partition, or extended partition. So I'm thinking of having four partition, or two extended partitions, one for each OS.

Or

Can I just have a third partition with my games and such on it and be able to play the game using both OS, or do I need a forth partition? Or does it depend what OS that I install the game from to the third partition?

Confused yet. That's what I'm trying to figure out, before I even begin. If I just used one OS, I would just make two partition. One for the OS, and one for games and such. Now that I'm thinking of using two OS, I'm unsure how to go about it. Any idea?
