Crucial makes good RAM, if you buy direct from their website you'll notice PC3200 isn't much more expensive than PC2700. The perfect RAM solution for you would be a pair of PC3200 modules. Crucial uses high performance RAM and sets the SPD values in the medium performance range to add stability.

Thanks crashman. Are you familiar with the Biostar boards? I'm trying to make up my mind between Intel and Amd. Biostar has a board with everything I need. Onboard video, sound, lan. It supports dual ram and has the nVidia chip. That and the Athlon XP 2500 barton, with a Corsair Kit of two 256mb PC 3200 ram. With a 180gb Western digital HD and Pioneer DVD-RW/CDRW. What do you think. I've never built a AMD before. I've built two Intel based systems.

My Biostar boards have been medium quality and medium performance.
