Both of the current moderators have recently started new jobs that
will not allow them to perform moderation during working hours. This
will cause the post processing rate to noticeably drop and will make
it difficult for us to continue to keep up the 24hr max processing
time.

So....

We're looking for volunteers to shore up the current team of
moderators. If you've ever thought about giving it a try, then let us
know. I've been moderating now for several years, and except for the
occasional crank, I've enjoyed it. And as I would read most of the
posts in the group anyway, moderating doesn't really take up that
much more of my time.

There area few qualifications:

- Access to a Unix-based system (moderation is performed via scripts).
(A Windows-based Unix environment is now available, so a Windows
PC is now considered a Unix-based system.)
- Some skill and experience with twiddling scripts and using mailers
is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Access to a reasonably good newsfeed.
- Available to moderate most weekends (at least 3 out of 4) and some
holidays in addition to Mon-Fri.

and

- General knowledge of high-end audio.
- Ability to moderate from a position of neutrality, even if you
subscribe to some particular audio philosophy.
- A relatively thick skin (Very Important!)

If you are interested in being considered for one of the available
slots, please reply to this message or send email to
<rahe-mods@bigfoot.com>. One of the moderators will get back to you
shortly.
