Which DVD format is compatible woth most DVD readers? DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW? I am talking about both pc dvd readers and set top dvd players

Conventional wisdom states that DVD- is better for DVD Video and DVD+ is better for data. The reality is that if it plays DVD-, then it will play DVD+ and vice versa. There are very few exceptions to this rule.

The more you know, the more you know that you know less than you thought you knew when you knew less than you now know
 
So far DVD-R has worked on everything I've tried it on, that includes 2 different computers and 4 different brand setops, but DVD+R would not work on my setop, I tried +R first and had to go with -R to get it to work. Hope that helps.
