Need advice on next PC audio setup...

Hi all ,, I've been looking for NG to ask a few questions about PC
audio.... hope this one is appropriate, anyway my first question is;
Do I really need digital inputs on my next set of PC speakers?
Basically what I will use them for is music and games. After 3 nites
reading reviews till 5am on the net, I think what I want is Logitech
z-5300 spkrs w/SB Audigy 2 sound card. No digi-ins on these spkrs, so
will they be obsolete in a few yrs or what?
