Hi everybody,

would like to have some opinions about mi idea of changing
my meridian 506.24 with a Sonic Frontiers SFCD-1.

My sistem is

Audio Note PreampKit
Audio Note P3 (Single Ended 300B)
Supra EFF-I Interconnect Cable
Audio Note AN-V Intercoonect Cable
Sonus Faber Gran Piano Home

Does anybody have direct experience with the two players ?

Many tnks beforehands.

There would seem little point in discussing the *extremely* subtle
differences which *may* exist between those two excellent players,
when you have such a singularly incapable amplifier, the colourations
from which will completely dominate your system!

Sure, it's an *8-watt* SET amp (and that's only into an 8-ohm load),
hence fundamentally unsuited to driving Grand Pianos.

Get a decent 60-200 watt SS amp, and then think about CD players, if
you absolutely must! Personally, I doubt if there's *any* CD player
which will sound more accurate than the 506.24, although there are
certainly a few which will sound *different*.

If you have complaints about the Meridian, consider adding a Benchmark
DAC-1 to it instead.
