I'm looking at a laptop that has a 15.4" WXGA 1280x800 screen. The laptop also comes with a Geforce Go 7600. I was just wondering if that resolution is a little low for gaming (I play 1280 x 1024 on my desktop) and if the geforce go 7600 is suitable for gaming itself?
It's a little small, but shouldn't be too bad. My Dad's Inspiron 6000 runs at that res and it looks fine. Come to think about it, my desktop runs at 1360x768 and I play games at that. The 7600 can play most games, but don't expect to play with all the eye candy that a higher-end card would allow for.
Wait just a wee bit longer.
The 15.4" chassis will have the nVidia 8600 cards out soon with the Santa Rosa chipsets.
You are right on the technology edge that is worth the wait for a month or so to get the new stuff. Especially when you are looking at moving form a 7600 to an 8600.
