I have this old laptop which is suddenly starting to overheat. (yes i stripped it and cleaned it out, no difference)
The funny thing is that the heat sink and fan are not trying at all to keep the cpu cool.
The fan does work, as i hear it switch on when i power on the machine, i hear it spin for a bit, then when windows starts to boot, the fan switches off. I'm guessing that the thermal sensor must have stopped working.
The fan has 3 cables going to it, Black,Yellow and Red, I'm guessing one of these has to be a pulse line to switch ON or OFF the fan depending on the thermal sensor's request.
How do i bypass the thermal sensor and keep the fan ON at all times?
