Hdmi connection Nvidia GT 240

I have a Gigabyte ep45 UD3LR motherboard with a Nvidia GT 240 Graphics card.

I have the computer graphics and sound connected to a Yamaha RV-X567 7.1 system

The computer is running Win 7 Prof'l

The connection works intermittently

Th error message I get is Windows has detected that the audio enhancements for the following device are causing problems :

Yamaha RV-X567-1 (NVIDIA Hign definition audio
would you like to disable Driver enhancements for this device.

On carrying out a system restore it will connect both video and audio once. It then does not connect.

How do I resolve this problem?

Are you using onboard sound? When is the last time you updated the Realtek ALC888 audio chipset on your motherboard? There was a new driver release 07/12/2012. Here is the link in case you haven't tried that yet.
