And, more importantly, still much more than a top-quality
fully-shielded computer power cord, which will run you not more than
$50 in any good electronics or computer store - and is still total
overkill for domestic audio!

What I don't understand is how could someone markup the price from about $60
to $595. Even at $50, they probably make some profit.

Are Singaporean/Malaysian audiophiles that gullible to such stuff?

Snip......

Not as bad as some in US or even UK. If you look around, you would notice
prices in Singapore is almost 40% less than UK. And that got nothing to do
with GST or whatever tax structure.

Sometime ago, I posted about made in China Tara Labs cables here but I also
know of another cable made in China being sold in US almost 20 times more.

In fact some of the wonderful Chinese product designs probably originated
from some US or UK outsourcing policy.

Another example, one of the top US power transformer was copied and being
sold in Malaysia under different brand. Dare to say at least 50% high end
shops use them. So who's gullible?

But that's got no panache whatsoever...nothing to brag about, to amaze
your friends with.
