Stop desktop shortcuts to recognize changes

Hi,

I learned, that if I make a shortcut of an executable on the desktop for example with
right click -> Send to -> Desktop (create shortcut)
I get a shortcut as one would expect (duh), BUT if I change the original path or filename of the file, the shortcut is keeping up with the change and points to the new location/name of the file.
Now I can see how convenient this can be, but I don't want this to happen. I want them to be static. I want my links dead (missing target) if I move/rename the original file it was pointing to.
