How to enable 4 1 surround output in windows 7

Hello I have bought 4.1 channel surround system and I connected them to my system. But am able to hear sound coming from only from two speakers. I am using windows 7. Please provide me steps how to select 4.1 channel surround system. And also to which jacks the pins have to be connected.

Windows 7 supports stereo, quadraphonic, 5.1 and 7.1 surround.

Can configure in the playback devices under the configure tab after selecting the playback device you're using.

If you have a speaker icon at the bottom right corner of your screen you can right click > playback devices or find it in control panel > hardware & sound.
