You guys have heard me gripe before about lag, but I discovered
yesterday that I actually move faster running than on my ethereal! It's
very jerky on the ethy, but running is smother (tho still too darn
slow). Has anyone heard if there are problems with ethereal mounts?

I have no problem with mine, except accidentally clicking on myself
and finding it in my pack now and then. It seems to move just as
fast as the bug, or the mare, I just don't like the transparency of
the ethereal. You must be playing in 3D. I did notice a rocking
chair motion on all steeds in 3D that is not there in 2D.

Have you got a friend with one that you could borrow to see if it is
specifically yours (or try logging in to your account from another machine
to test it)? Otherwise, it could be something to do with the way it's
animated, causing your computer to slow down.

Yes, I do, one of my ethy horse gets tired very very easily
I even bank sit with ethy in the back pack for over 10 hours, mount the
enthy and ran for about 5 screens, I got the mount is tired message again.

I didn't think they got tired - or was that added in for balance reasons?

If it does get tired, I've a feeling that it will only regenerate stamina
when it's mounted, as they're in a sort of frozen state in your pack.

I have not got the "your mount is tired" message in about two years.
I thought they removed that.

Your ethereal must be bugged.

Maybe that's a new "reward" for Evil Item dupers? Hehe, drive them out of
the game by annoying them in many little ways.

Yeah, that bug has been about for a little while now. i seem to remember
there being a note on Stratics that it was to be addressed in a near-future
publish, but ... eh we know how that can go.

I've had this problem. I checked the problem site on UO and one reply said
to sit still on the ethy for a while. That solved it for me.

At one point they lost stamina like other ridable pets but if you let them
regain full stamina they won't or shouldn't lose it now.
