Yeah, I'm not sure if there are anything out there for free, either.
IMO, Drive Image 2002 has been very user-friendly and simple to set up. You can also schedule it to run automatically to image your desired partition to another partition/hard drive/CD writing device. You can set it overnight, so that in the morning, you feel like tweaking anything and you screw something up, you can fire up DI to go back to your last image.
With ImageExplorer, you can extract certain files from an image. For example, if some of your files become corrupt, you can restore them as last backed up with your image. I hope that made sense...
At least with Drive Image, it's not mandatory to use boot disks, like Norton Ghost, unless you don't install it into your Windows system. I use it, Toey uses it, and <A HREF="http://www.langa.com" target="_new">Fred Langa</A> (who I originally got the recommendation from) uses it.
