Is there a way to disable the tone that tells callers you're on a call

Hi - I am a Verizon customer and I have been trying to find a way to disable that tone people hear when I'm on another call. Not sure how clear I am being, but I think you all know what I'm talking about. If I'm on a call already and someone else calls me, they hear a ring and then a tone that tells them I'm on the phone and therefore ignoring their call.

I get a bit tired of people expecting me to switch over just cause they know I'm there, so I want to know if there is a way to disable that feature so it just rings with no tone. I'd turn off my call waiting, but sometimes I need the calls that are coming through.

Any help you be REALLY appreciated! Thanks!

I think you're referring to the little tone that plays when someone calls, correct?

For example- If you are on the phone with someone, and I call you, I hear the phone ring. At the end of each ring is a beep. Is that what you are talking about?
