Hey all,

First time poster..

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on a good card that will help in at home recording.
I was told to stay away from the Creative cards, as they are not too geared for recording.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Maybe some good websites?

Thanks for any help,

Hi... The problem with sound cards, is that what card you need all depends on precisely what you intend to use it for - i.e. what do you need to record? etc.

There are lots of different cards at various prices all offering different capabilities - from basic 2-in/2-out expansion cards, to 8-in/8-out cards with external rack-mounts (with varying prices too...). (I use an Edirol Da2496 - and haven't had an real problems with it...).

For websites... Try here first:

http://www.cdrecordingsoftware.com/card_compare.html

Of course the one thing pictures and text can't tell you - is how they sound - only your ears can do that...

(And there are probably newer cards that don't appear on the chart)

Hope this helps...
