VX9900 Music issue?

I must say, this phone is ridiculous. I've had several issues with it, somehow this is only my second unit.

For some reason, I can't import *certain* songs. Some import just fine, others aren't recognized by the phone's MP3 player. I'm using a memory card reader to sync songs, not the USB cable.

The phone will ONLY read mp3's, nothing more. I thought it was a too high of a bit rate, so I reconverted it from 320kbps to 192kbps. Still no luck. So I tried 160, and then 128. STILL nothing.
