Hi, I installed AOM on my new PC (WIN XP SP2) on the weekend.. However, when
I click on the shortcut icon or using the START-PROGRAM , I got the error
message : Microsft Program has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience" . If I keep trying, it may work 1 of few
trails. This is a new PC that I bought early this month (AMD Athlon XP 3200+
) with OS WIN XP SP2 and 160GB hard disk, 512 MB RAM with NVIDIA GeForce4
MX Integrated GPU. I have one DVD burner (D:) and one CD-ROM (E:). I
installed the game using the E: drive. Interesting thing is I managed to
find a work around now by putting the AOM disk 1 in the DVD drive (D:) and it
works.. Just curious why it won't work if I use E: drive of which the program
uis installed from ?

Hi Allen,

Because although you can install from the E: drive, the game
checks the first drive (D:) for the CD first, and will not continue
if it's not found. Also, your DVD player will satisfy the copy
protection check better then the CD drive wouldn't.

Regardless though, I'm glad the program is working for you. :)
