Reception changes little due to temperatures, the signal carries better through less dense cold air, but it's a factor of other things like humidity as well.

For verizon, I have a motorola moto e815. The phone came out in 2005 but I have a hard time giving it up since it has the best reception. My house is on the backside of a hill so coverage can be spotty. I tried to upgrade in November but the phone couldn't compare. I would love a sleeker looking phone but have a hard time compromising on function vs form.
