Fury3 + WinXP: joystick doesn't work

Hello everybody.

I have bought a new HP with Windows XP Home Edition.

In my previous PC I used to play an 'old' Microsoft Game called Fury3 (is 9
years old really old?). It worked fine, with my Microsoft Sidewinder
Precission 2 USB joystick, and with my 'old' copy of Windows 98 SE (is 5
years old really old?).

Now, in my new PC, the joystick seems to work fine (I can calibrate it with
Control panel), and Fury3 works fine too, with the keyboard,

BUT

the joystick doesn't work.

So, isn't it really nasty? MS Fury 3 + MS Sidewinder + MS Windows XP HE
don't seem to work together.

Can you help, please? I called Bill yesterday, but he never seems to be at
home...
