This amp. is about 7 years old. I had it cleaned 3 months ago, but I am
again getting intermittent noise. It seems this is being caused by the
function selector knob as I can hear very slight "static" when I move it a
bit. Any advice as to whether I should have it "overhauled" or simply seek a
new integrated amp.? Perhaps this is a common problem with this amp as it
ages. It is slight, and may be tolerated by some but I choose not to. Ron

Control sections, even of very fine equipment, get dirty and perhaps a bit
worn over time. Usually cleaning them with a spray contact cleaner and then
working the selector repeatedly will clean them. In a worst case scenario,
the selector switch or volume pot can be replaced by a competent technician
or (hopefully) the factory repair depot. There is really no need to throw
away a good piece of equipment that your are otherwise happy with.
