I keep getting a security alert when I attempt to deploy BearSharePro. I use
WindowsXP Home Ed., have Norton Internet Security and Anti-Virus.

Can someone please tell me how to get this "Firewall Rule" issue resolved so
I can begin using BearShare?

I appreciate your help.

Norton Internet Security has built-in tables of applications that it
will allow or block. Peer-to-Peer file sharing apps are usually set
to blocked. You just have to change NIS's internal Application
settings to allow BearShare network access. I believe the setting
is under Program Control. I think the settings are Allow, Block or
Automatic. Check the Help function in NIS for exact instructions.

NIS seems to be trying to protect you from yourself.

1. Configure NIS to allow BearShare access;

2 Subscribe to a BearShare membership (giving you BearShare w/out
hijackware), or

3. Use another, hijackware-free P2P app.
