What do you use to cool your cpu?
I have been having trouble keeping mine cool.
Vcore is 1.350 and idle temp averages 53C. Ambient temp in my apartment is 26C.

Also what stepping is your 3.2? Mine is a C stepping. Extra toasty.

I really like the pull out scanner, thats a great idea!

Do you have any overheating problems with the AIW 9800? I did with mine the ATI stock cooling sucks, so I added a lot better cooling solution and Ram Sinks to mine and now she flat out rocks.

Reply to 4ryan6

your 9800aiw is a she? mines a beast so well hes masculine.

I use the zalman 7000 series (dont remember the model #) all copper cpu thingy running at 2600 rpm's
What do you use to cool your cpu?
I have cpu overheating problems too, My idle temps are at 40/59 degrees with the a/c on! and 45/65 reular operation
but, my mobo suposedly shows the temps a few degrees cooler so its probably closer to 50/70
I'm in the process of upgrading my cooling
I'm gonna get the zalman reserator 1, the zalman fanless cooler 80d-hp and their hdd cooler.
I'm also planning to put a very large fan (like 260mm) and run it at lik 100-200 rpms blowing down on the reserator.
I'm hoping to get 40-50 load
what do you think?
One can dream right

My core is at 1.4125
I have the c steppings too

I dont think i have any overheating issues with my aiw but the (neither he or her) doesnt want to overclock at all!
when i ran atitool my mem and core went down not up
It worked with rage3d tweak but not by much.
I hope i can overclock it to xt speeds with the cooler but time will tell.
Wouldnt that be hot aiw 9800xt after flashing the xt bios

then screwed them onto a 12x24 board and then to the desk
walla
Its nice it saves space and very convinient

I replaced the Intel stock cooler yesterday with the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu cooler. The Zalman knocked 5C off my full load temp. The idle temp is the same with the Zalman and the Intel stock cooler. Idle temp averages 52C.

I think water cooling is necessary if you want to keep your Prescott below 50C at full load.

The only thing I do not like about water cooling is how difficult it is to move your computer after it is set up.

I actually move mine once a month to get at the intake air filter for cleaning.

I don't see why your idea will not work. Your cpu and water temperature will be higher because you are adding more heat load and water flow resistance with the added water blocks and hard drive cooler.
Instead of getting a boxed water cooling solution you could always order your parts seperatly and assemble a custom built water cooling system to achieve the coolest load temperatures possible.

I need a silent pc because i run the computer for video editting at night and my bed is opposite my desk
My pc is quiet now around 25-30db but i need it quieter
now i have all intake fans and power supply at 14.4 db
So custom kit isnt really an option

Sure it is. You can get a larger radiator and use very low speed fan to cool it.
You can also get a larger pump and larger cooling lines and have your radiator and pump in a remote location so noise doesn't interfere with your video editing.

By the way you have a nice speaker system set up.

i also have 2 speakers hanging out in the back
I saw them for $280 (56 hours of summer work)
so i jumped on the offer

-------------------------------------------------------
I actually move mine once a month to get at the intake air filter for cleaning.
-------------------------------------------------------
but you dont like move it from room to room i'm sure its a minor or would be a minor inconvenience.
I'll take a 2nd look at a custom water system
Also which cpu, mobo are u running?
thanks

Mine our like 1m apart for all the 3 from channels - all in the center of a side wall. by the way i have no oc stuff, and only 3.2c, get 3dmark of 10000+.

An this adds to the sound quality and 3dmark numbers

I cannot overclock. Its not an option.
Can't adjust FSB on Intel motherboards. I can only adjust ram timing.

Since my wife and kids use the computer I built it for stability instead of performance.

Check out the picture. You will see the girl with the blond highlights has her arm under the torso of the brunette. Thus her arm will have blood circulation restricted causing the 'pins and needles' sensation.

I like the reflection of the camera flash on the poster too.
