Im not a big gamer ill be using this pc to edit some movies burn music and surf the net but i would like to play a few games im not a major gamer how does this setup sound if i buy the xp retail if i remove the pad and apply artic silver will that kill my 3 year war would you leave the pad on or use artic silver thanks if you see any parts in this list i can do better with for around the same price let me know thanks i already have a case 350 watts also a cd-rw drive and floppy drive

The heatsink that comes with the 2500 retail already has thermal paste applied to it (not a thermal pad). While Arctic Silver IS a better thermal paste, the stuff that's already on there is fine for most people.

Dont expect to be editing anything very quickly with only 256mb of memory. WinXP by itself uses almost that much.

yea, most people who do heavy editing might want something in the 1GB range..... 512 is becoming the Minimum for today, 1GB is not even that crazy... it sounds it but pretty soon that might be the new minimum when all this 64bit stuff hits around.
