Hello. I am really hoping someone can give me some ideas to try I'm ripping my hair out right now literally. Ok heres the deal I have an A7N8X deluxe MB. I just got a reciever for Christmas (JVC rx 7030v). Now when I hook the RCA cable from the lime (headphone)jack using this adaptor into my cd input on the reciever or any input for that matter I am getting only the LEFT channel when I play music off the computer or testing with the NVIDIA nForce control panel. When the reciever is playing from dvd's or television it is fine playing out both speakers. Only when try from the computer as a source its down to the left channel. This is why I am coming here and not to a Jvc forum. Hoping someone has some ideas as to what I am doing wrong with my setup. I'm not really sure to be honest what other info could help. Thanks for your time.

?? um, i have same motherboard... did you check windows control panel options make sure speakers are center'd.... also there's inputs abose the regular mic, and head phone ones........ get a cable with like a headphone jack on one end and RCA jacks on the other end .. plug headphone into headphone Input, and hook RCA jacks up to say "AUX" port on your reciever... then turn on reciever and switch to AUX... check AUX volumes on PC and that should work perfect, also try setting up reciever with out PC and see if it even works.

im not a professional ...far from that.. but from what i understand, since your using a Reciever, that will decode all the channals and stuff, so basically if you set it up the way i said it should work, if you just had a bunch of speakers and where uses just the audio card then thats where you use all those other jacks (i think).......... but if you get the RCA jacks.. Red and White on one end and then Headphone type jack on the other end .. that's all you need........ like i said above, you can either use LINE IN or HEadPhone, i would use Headphone i think, or try line in both should work, and then rca jacks to the inputs on your reciever for the AUX ch... when power reciever on and switch to AUX mode... and you should be able to hear your PC sounds out the speakers fine... ....... i hope this works for you man..

yep, speakeers are centered. I'm using the cable you describe with the jack on one end and rcas on other. Thats why I can't figure out whats wrong. Its hooked into the headphone (lime) jack. And on the reciever its on the CD input but I've tried various other inputs with teh same results. Reciever works fine watching television or DVDS. But when i switch it over to play the music streaming from my computer it only comes out the left speaker. I think its a problem with my soundcard or settings, because why would it work flawlessly with everything else and not my pc?

I appreciate any help I can get :)

Well, so far I've tried both line in and headphone. Line in i get absolutely nothing for sound, and headphone produces sound out of only the left channel. argh!

1.) You could have a bad cable
2.) You could have a bad jack on the motherboard
3.) You might not have the cable plugged in all the way

yep, just tried every other one. absolutely no sound except out of the headphone jack.(left side) *shrug* i think on the off chance I'm on the wrong trail i might return the reciever even though it works well with dvd and tv, just to see. The reason is i dug out an old realistic stereo reciever to test my cables ect. It plays out both speakers fine. I just don't know.

well you said it works right when you don't use PC? well try the Other inputs on the reciever, if they work with the tv then they should work with the pc

That is exactly my pain. I've unhooked the TV and DVD player just a few minutes ago, and tried those inputs for my computer same deal. One speaker sound.

ok
i think i got a simple way to check... buy a new Sound card... nothing xpensive, a creative mp3 or some [-peep-] like that in bestbuy or circuit city... make sure you can return... and HOOK up the same way..... if it will work, then you solved your problem it's a problem with mobo onboard sound

Hi, traded off the reciever for a yamaha htr-5640. Same problem. It only plays sound out of the left channel. I think its definetly in the onboard A7N8X deluxe sound. Is there a setting I could be missing in my setup? Would it be any different to try to use that S/PDIF connection at the back to the computer? What would I need in the way of wiring/adaptors to make this possible? Its worth a try, before I haul my whole computer in to get the MB replaced... Any ideas people? Thanks for all the help, I'm almost out of hair.. :)

Have you tried listening with headphones to see if they work correctly. I would say you have a bad cable. I did what you have done and only had one channel. Ended up being the adapter cable.

You can also hook up regular powered pc speakers thru the headphone jack to test.

yeah yo, change cable........ and then if that's not good, do an Update on Sound Drivers, maybe got currupted or something..

dude, get a life and don't bother us with these nonsenses. change the cable, change the slot you are plugging into (main out instead of headphone's), change speakers, check connections, buy a $10 sound card, get a wife (if you don't have one) do something useful, get busy..

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...
