Ok, i also have a big problem with this drive as i described in a post below... but anyways, this drive works very nice when it's actually working, and for ripping and burning dvd's i havn't made one coaster. 1 small problem tho... i have spoke with many people and they say it usually takes around 20min to rip dvd and maybe between 13-18min to burn.. ok... I rip with x copy platnium, works nice.. takes maybe 20-23 min depending on dvd... now.. when i burn i have been using sonic MyDVD... selecting data disc, and burning the video and audio TS folders, dvd's WORK MINT... but on the application it will say step 3 of 3 writing disc, takes about 13-14min, but when it's done, it goes through this other whole damn process that says veryfing disc which takes another damn 24 min... how the hell can i eliminate this step or other program that will work nice?

You can eliminate the last step to "verify" the disc. This basically checks the disc for errors that might have occured.

Ripping the original DVD depends on your dvd-rom drive's speed. This speed MIGHT not be the same as the one that says on the box(ie 16x). Some manufactures put a 2x cap on Rom drive ripping speed.

What dvd-burner and what speed media are you using? 4x media takes about 15min to just burn.

If you are ripping a DVD-9 to one DVD-5 I'd suggest you try a program called DVD-Shrink. Its a great program and its free. You need a seperate burning software though, Nero comes to mind.
