I've got an old Zire 72 laying around and I read somewhere a long time ago that you could use it as a little usb display. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks!

Haven't heard anything like that actually. But I'm sure it's possible to take out the Zire 72's display, and hook it up to a USB to display interface: http://www.noritake-itron.com/subp [...] wspage.htm
