Treo 600 synchronization to old Sony Clie datebook/todos/etc

Hi,

I resynced my old Clie to my PC. Then I installed
the Treo 600 software and synced it with the PC.
I access the phone's contacts, calendar, and todo
databases and found them empty having expected them
to be filled with my dozens of contacts.

I went back to my PC and opened the Palm desktop installed
with the Treo 600 and found the various databases missing
(failed to open address book database it says, etc.)

Further, I create a new contact in the Treo 600 and resync
it with the desktop using the Hotsync provided with the Treo
600 and it failed to update the contact database in the Treo
600 desktop, instead saying as above "failed to open address
book database."

I have tried de-installing both sets of software, reinstalling
the Clie desktop/hotsync, doing a sync with it (updates from
the Clie the data is still there), then reinstalling the Treo
600, and syncing, and the same thing happened again.

I haven't tried the reverse direction but this is beginning
to get a little old.

Anyone else have a problem with going from a Clie to a Treo?
