Newb question, can you change the CAS timings?

I know they come with the manufacture specs, but I was wonding if you can change the CAS timings? Perhaps to get a tighter time?

Yes, Cas can be set in BIOS on most boards. Setting it too high results in instability. Some RAM can take a small decrease in timing, others can't. Sometimes increasing vDIMM helps.

Do you happen to know if you can bring the Corsair 512MB DDR PC-3500C2 down to better timings? I think its 2-3-3-7.
