Got a question on partitioning here. My bro killed a partition on the wrong hard drive. He hasn't done anything since killing it. Is there any way to recover the info off it? He's been too scared try anything for fear of losing his stuff

thanks

It's all good ^_^

Partition Magic 8.0 can undelete partitions (not sure if it can undelete partitions that another program deleted, however). Kinda an expensive program, though.

Damn Rambus.

Look here; I listed almost every retail recovery software program on the market in this post (and a few that aren't retail, for that matter):

<A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=93274#93274" target="_new">Corrupted Inconsistent Hard Disk</A>

I personally prefer the Ontrack EasyRecovery Pro <A HREF="http://www.ontrack.com/easyrecoverydatarecovery/" target="_new">DataRecovery</A> software for situations like this, but that might be a bit rich for some pockets.

At least one of the programs listed should be able to do the job, provided the disk has been left alone and not accessed since the partition was deleted.

I always use Active Partition Recovery, it'll just find the old deleted parition and rewrite the partition table for you and you will be able to access you data as before.

It's been forever since I've checked the forums here, but I thought I'd let you guys know that I got all the info back on the hard drive.

I went through so many demos that could do 1 file, or some crap like that. So, I "fixed" a demo with an unnamed program and I got it to recover everything. (go piracy)

It's all good ^_^

I realise that your post was a long time ago. But I have accidently deleted one of my partitions (the one with all my data on it as opposed to the one with nothing! doh) and would like to know which program you used to fix your similar problem?

I havent written to my disk or formated it at all so i prey all the data is there.

Someone please unwire me...the gadgets are taking over!
