I have a DELL INSPIRON 5100 laptop, about 5 years old, that doesnt "see" my flash drive when I plug the flash drive into the USB port on the laptop. The 5100 is running XP Home. What do I have to do to the laptop/XP so that it "sees" and recognizes my flash drive? Do I need to turn on any services or make a BIOS setting change or what? Do I need to add a Microsoft patch or fix? The laptop is running XP SP2 as well.
The flash drive doesn't show up in Explorer as any drive letter. The USB port is working.
