SHARP Fax machine MD# UX-171.I can receive faxes but can not send.When I try to do so I get either a busy signal or an unhooked receiver signal.There is no telephone connected to the machine,jus the the LINE IN.I searched the manual but the answer to my question is not included.

That's odd. Try dialing the number with your phone just to see if you get the FAX tones from the machine you're trying to send to.

I have to use my PC to send faxes.

Yes.I did get a Fax tone from a phone that is connected to the machine,but not from the machine itself.What is so strange is the fact that I can reveive faxes.I did send a message to the SHARP people and hope to reveive some instructions from them.Thanks for having tried to help.
