Intel is currently better than AMD and to play WOW she will need a decent but not massive graphics card. Check out: HP DV 6500 and 9500 and Dell Inspiron 1720, 1520, 1420.

theres 2 offerings on the video card which are Nvidia & ATI. there are others, but they're not well known as these 2.

Nvidia seems to be the better one of the two.

I too would recommend Intel CPUs at the moment. The Intel Core 2 Duo familiy (specially those with Santa Rosa chipsets and larger cache: T7300, T7500 and T7700) are the best ones, in my opinion. Since you don't need extreme firepower, try getting one of the middle class processors (for example, the T7500): they're probably the best value choice. As for the Video Card, I'd look for the NVidia GeForce 8400M-GS, Nvidia GeForce 8400M-GT, Nvidia GeForce 8600M-GS, Nvidia GeForce 8600M-GT and Nvidia GeForce 8700M-GT. The NVidia GeForce 8400M-GS will let you play World of Warcraft at max settings (with AA off) on 1280x800 with fps of around 30-55. The more you stretch your wallet to get the upper class cards, the more your performance will scale. These cards are also DirectX compliant, so you would be more future proofed that with other options. I'm not as updated with the ATI cards at the moment, but if I'm not mistaken, they are not as powerful as their competitor's (for now, at least).
Hope it's of help =).
