I took the lcd screen off of my gateway 450SX4 to see what the exact replacement number was on the LCD. I've tried putting the LCD/cover back together, but I can't figure out how the hinges go on. My question is this. If I unplugged the two video cables coming from the screen to the motherboard, would the laptop operate ok? assuming I plugged an external monitor to the laptop. Or does the video cables have to be plugged in? In other words, will the laptop operate without the lcd being plugged in? I don't have the money for the lcd and I'd like to be able to use the laptop.
