I just purchased a Sony PEG-UX50 on Ebay (my first PDA). The ebay
information stated it had an Extra Travel Charger. I have yet to
figure out the Travel Charger.
The ux50 arrived with a Pega-ac10 AC adapter that I can plug into the
Pega-jc40 charger cradle to recharge the ux50 (this works fine). My
ux50 documentation also shows a USB Cable (which came with the ux50)
that I believe I can use with a PC to charge the ux50 through the
charger cradle (Is my assumption correct?). It looks like I always
need the charger cradle with me.
I also received a second Pega-ac10 adapter with a small plug adapter
that I believe was supposed to plug directly into the ux50. This would
bypass the charger cradle. Pega-ac10 documentation (I downloaded from
the Sony site) shows connecting the plug adapter directly into a clie
(but not the ux50). The ux50 does not have an interface connector
matching the plug adapter. Is there a use for the plug adapter with a
ux50?
Below is information I copied from a site selling the Pega-ac10. The
two asterisks after the ux50 refer to a "USB Cradle only". What is a
USB Cradle?

The UX-50 requires a charger cradle. The Sony AC adapter plugs into the
charger cradle (it's useless by itself).
Unlike other PDAs, it is NOT possible to charge the UX-50 via the USB port
(without internal modifications).
You can purchase third-pary cradles that let you plug in a USB cable (from
your PC) and charge that way, but you will always need some sort of cradle
to charge your UX-50.
The 1src forums are a good source of information about your UX-50:
