I'm looking for a pair of stereo floorstanding speakers and I'd like to
shop on the north side of the Boston suburbs. I want to stay under
$1600 for the pair. I've been to Goodwins and I wasn't impressed with
what little they had in this price range. I know about and I plan to
visit the Tweeter in Burlington and I see that Spearit in Boston sells
Paradigms which I am interested in. I'm not excited about driving into
Boston but it looks like they have a lot of nice gear in my price
range. I've also had good experiences shopping at Cameras Inc in
Arlington. Any other places I'm missing?

For $1,600, I think you should get over any resistance about travelling
to Boston or its suburbs. Whatever you do, be sure the dealer allows
you to take the speakers home, listen for a few days and return them
for a full refund if you don't like them.

State Street Discount in Portsmouth sells PSB speakers, which are
highly regarded by many. I have a pair of Axiom bookshelf speakers I
think sound extremely good: neutral, balanced and realistic. They make
floor speakers, too.
