I know that MSI & Asus are barebones laptop vendors.

 

are there other barebones laptop vendors, if so who are they?

 

also, do any laptop vendors (not talking barebones on this one) take customer requests for models that is not in their product catalogs or do not carry? for example - vendor carries hitachi drives, customer wants Seagate drives.

well, I didn't make clear in my post which I have corrected. I meant barebones laptop vendors, not barebones vendor in general. :)

 

XPC, hmm.. they certainly have interesting semi-portable small form designs. Good possibilities for a DIY pc.

 

I take it that Shuttle has stopped making motherboards?

yes i havent seen any new motherboard in their site , and now they dont even have a motherboard selection page , i read in a magazine in iran that http://www.rjtech.com/ has some laptop barbones , checkh it out
