So if i was to use a third party bluetooth file sharing program on my ipod, would the transfer speeds depend on the hardware or software? And how fast transfer speed could i achieve over bluetooth?

Bluetooth is very slow for file transfers. I did not even know any iPods had it.

Speeds would depend on both software and hardware, but at best you will go from super slow to very very slow.

I found a good program with speed up to 1.7 mb/s. That's EXTREMELY fast up/down for a iPod. Having trouble installing the .deb though :/
