Hey there,

I'm in the process of building my first PC, and I'm a bit stumped by what type of memory I can use in it. I'm planning to use a DFI NFII Ultra AL motherboard, with an Athlon XP 3000+ in it. Does the use of the 3000+ mean that I have to go with PC2700 ram? I'm a bit confused about how the bus speeds relate to the specific processor chip and ram selection. Also, I'd like to populate all 3 ram slots, and put 1.5 gigs of ram on the motherboard. Is there any reason why that's not possible, or any specific type of ram that I need to make that work?

Thanks for your help,

-Jon

I assume this is 333Mhz FSB version. Doesn't mean you have to use PC2700 (DDR333) memory though; could use PC3200, PC3500, etc. I'd choose PC3200 for a bit more headroom. But, no matter the memory frequency of the chosen memory module always keep the memory frequency in sync with the FSB - 333MHz/333Mhz in this case.
