I have a total of 768 mb ram on my system.(2x 128 MB dimms at 166mhz and 1x 512 MB dimm at 333mhz. Should I keep both of the slower 128 mb dimms in or should I remove them? and what performance effect would happen from removing them?

I don't think its possible for the dimms to run a different speed. Are you sure about this? What mainboard are you using?

Anyone know what I should do with the current memory I have?

I see the problem here: You don't know what you're talking about! First thing is, there is no RAM that runs at an actual clockrate of 333MHz. DDR333 runs at 166MHz. Second thing is, all your RAM has to run the same speed.

So you have 3 modules of PC2700?

thanks for letting me know. Why do my 128 mb chips have a "sticker" on the chip showing 166 and my 512 chip has 333?

caz some body at the marketing decided that 166 in a double rate looks better than the 166 itself, so they put on the sticker 333 (which is the same thing for DDR)

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...

Because DDR333 operates at 166MHz. I already explained that. DDR means Double Data Rate. Meaning 166MHz clock rate offers 333MHz data rate. 166=333.
