Planning to install an adaptec scsi card in xp to install my new film scanner. According to adaptec, the drivers are already in xp(ASPI) and I have the latest 4.71. Anyways, di I have to configure anything or is it all automatic like usb? If I'm only connecting 1 scsi device, do I have to terminate it with a terminator plug? Are their any good resources on this topic?

I'm sure someone will give you more resources. Terminate the last device on any chain, or the end of the cable. Give each device it's own number ID. PCI SCSI cards are Plug and Play, most Adaptec cards have drivers built into XP.

I've ran SCSI scanners without termination, but drives tend to be fussier.
