best sound??

Ok so what sound card has the BEST sound? This includes quality and general pleasingness of the sound (IE: The lynx two is the BEST card for recording, but to listen to it it's far too transparent to be particualarly enjoyable) I would like to see several options at differant price levels, and also maybe some reviews of differant cards. I've spent quite a bit of time reading up on differant cards, but would like to hear some opinions of other people :D

And how do you know Lynx TWO isn't enjoyable? e.g. overall I myself prefer a transparent sounding solution although a little added warmth helps in some situations.

I'm not too familiar with each price point but these are the options you have at ~$100: Creative Audigy2 ZS, M-Audio Revolution 7.1, Terratec Aureon 5.1 Sky/7.1 Space, Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1. At <$250 there are Terratec DMX-6Fire 24/96, M-Audio Audiophile 2496, Creative Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro and [many] others I don't know about (from the likes of M-Audio, Echo and RME) more oriented towards the musicians and home studio folks. You go higher and you reach the likes of M-Audio Delta 1010 with which you can even track drums digitally (multi-track) because of the number of inputs/outputs it provides. And then there's Lynx...
