I live in Romania and notebook prices here are sky high (20%+ than US prices).
I can only afford a laptop with an integrated video card, so I got some questions about the CPU choices.
1) With an integrated video card, where will I notice a difference between Turion X2, Core Duo or Core 2 Duo?
2) How significant will that difference be?
I'm not a gamer, but I would like to play stuff like KotOR, HL2, Starcraft 2, Halo and the likes (no fancy stuff like Halo 3, Oblivion, Crysis).
I will use it for regular stuff such as internet/multimedia/office, but I will also be running PS, Adobe Premier/After Effects, Microsoft VS 2005/some other programming tools.
The most attractive choice so far seems to be this one: http://domo.ro/IT_&_C/Calculatoare [...] 710s_T7100 for $1000, but that's stretching the budget.
Core Duo or Turion X2 laptops are a little bit cheaper.
Should I make an effort to get the Core 2 Duo with 1 GB ram and X3100 intel graphics or would a Core Duo/Turion X2 do?
1_You cant compare CPUs with their VGAs , so yes there will be difference
2_Alot , CORE 2 DUO > CORE DUO> TURION X2
that laptop looks good and will play those games i think , definitely get CORE 2 DUO or CORE DUO ( dont go with turion X2 ) , if u can find a CORE DUO laptop with better VGA and the same price , then go for that , of not then go for this laptop u linked
