I would like to replace (upgrade) my exisitng WXGA LCD panel (1280x800) with a WXGA+ (1440x900) pixel panel. Is this possible?

It is, but you have to replace the entire screen assembly which if you don't know what you are doing will most likely be a major pain. I've never done it before, but I doubt it's easy. Not many things with laptops are.

As I expected it would not be so easy as to just swap out the LCD panel? this would include the inverter the entire top assembly as you mentioned. Yuck. Not near as easy as a desktop. thanks.
