New phone possibilities

Right now I have the LG enV (1st gen) & need to upgrade, I've been taking a look at:
1. LG Versa
2. Blackberry Storm

Of the 2, which would be the better choice? Mostly to make/recieve calls & text/pix, as well as a camera phone. Don't think I'd want to do much (if any) web surfing, & I was told that I MUST have internet service (which is extra $) if I want the Storm; is this true?

Also, I really hate it when the screen on a phone turns black, so I turn off Power Save Mode on my phone. I open the clamshell, type:

##program9900 (##77647269900) <press SEND> then type 000000

This gets me into the Service Menu where I can turn off Power Save Mode so the screen turns off, as well as change other settings Verizon reps & the manuals don't tell users about. Is there a similar "code" on the Storm or Versa?
