hi...i am new here and thank for that great forum...
i have acer aspire 1640
2000 cach,512 ram,proces 2000

while i was working in it it sudden power off and when try press power button again it show red light in the email button near the power button and not work,,,,,

and i leave it while then work again and power off again sudden ...like power off from it....what that mean?

try work by battery alone,,,not done,,,without battery the same,,,so what is there?

please all my medical working in it and i used to study with,,,plz help

You really should check in Acer's forums, because it could be a bunch of things, from a lose power connector on the mainboard inside the computer, to a defective battary or other issues like a faulty cap or overheating.

As a guess, it sounds like your battery is dying, and that the laptop needs the battery in order to function (some can work with it removed some can't, using the battery like a UPS).

From the sound of things the reason it works after a while is that it's very slowly holding a small charge, and then it uses it up and when you try to use it plugged in it doesn't have enough to keep working on.

My friends old sony laptops battery died completly and it needed it to function so he ust junked it.
