I cannot figure out what the hell this is in the device manager. I just bought this dude (great lappy BTW) and can't figure out what driver to install for this. Anyone know what this is? It simply shows up as Simple communications Controller in the device manager. I have everything I can think of installed but to no avail. Its really annoying when I start up because it asks me every time to install a driver for it.

Suggestions are very welcome

Thank you in advance

Have you checked the Lenovo site for an updated driver or system updates?

Have you tired to see what the properties are? Right click on the item. It will give you a clue as to what it is. Have you installed the latest chipset drivers? another option is to download the software that automatically checks your system and installs the drivers and software that either need updating or is missing.

No sound on IBM T40
By snurp85, 1 day ago:

Buried deep within the IBM website there is a page for downloading drivers for the T40. Just download and install the one needed for sound. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/ [...] 6258#audio If you already have the driver installed, then id suggest reinstalling it for good measure. Try going into control panel and opening up the audio panel to make sure it isnt muted
