'Some people still doubt that the value of any upgrade cable
can be proven by a DBT. In fact, the ABX cable tests performed
by the AES failed ot prove that any cable difference were audible.
However, ABX tests also proved to be useless in the development
of the compressed audio formats, such as MP3. The only form of
DBT that have allowed the effects of cables, amplifiers, and compressed
audio format to be identified reliably are 'ABC hidden reference' tests.
Unlike the ABX cable tests, they utilize a control (no cable
or no circuit) and the listener does the switching. Wireworld has been
facilitating double-blind cable tests for over ten years because they
provide valuable answers when they are done correctly. The Cable
Comparator Disc demonstrates the effectiveness of these tests and
the remarkable audible benefits of Wireworld cables."
So, does this mean
-- Wireworld speaker cables have passed DBTs against, say, plain Home
Depot-style speaker cables with similar RLC values?
-- that such results have been publicized somewhere?
-- that ABX cable tests do not allow user-controlled switching?
-- the ABX tests reported at hydrogenaudio.org have no role in
mp3 development?
-- that ABX tests do NOT reliably allow one to distinguish any
compressed audio from uncompressed audio?
Really, this all would seem to be big news...*ten years* worht of data
about cable difference, one of the most contentious topics in the
high-end....
What is the deal with Wireworld?
