I've recently read a few reviews on SATA drives and I noticed the reviewers talking about SATA power connections. In what way are these different to the ordinary power connections on the back of my IDE drives? Can I get a SATA drive and put it in my system (provided I change my mobo) without getting a new PSU?

Theres no need to change your PSU. SATA drives has a different power connector so you will need an adaptor. However, all SATA drives I have seen also had the old power connector known from PATA drives. Im not sure if this is true for all SATA drives. So, you may be able to do without the adaptor.
