why do i have a big weird feeling that this forum wont be popular and busy?

they are just new sections, the old single section for network stuff was never very big. which is not neccissarily a bad thing.

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal

Trust me... this will be a very good forum within a few weeks. I think lots of the users/readers that I have met at Ultra Unreal and Quakecon will be hanging out here very soon.

ohhh dstell. you made this forum so you could chill with ur unreal and quake dawgs ehh.?? not really for the benefit of the community but for your selfish...self.. NOOO JUST KIDDING.... its all good. I do hope that this will attract more gamers.... dstell you seem to be more into games than hardware so why not start the game review section we told u about.? and what about makin an official THG clan for counterstrike and other games? and have a THG server? shouldnt be too hard and shouldnt cost a lot...

ok, you and i are the first members, we will need a host to run the server, this is where dstell comes in? cs.tomshardware.com? hehehe i supposed i could host it, but im only on dsl with an upload of 16 kb/s that wouldnt work too well but its a good start. or we could look into hosting companys and split the cost among members? i dunno, maybe ive gone too far.

yea...you and me can be co leaders.... and if dstell wants to play, he can be a leader too. dstell, please can you see if there is a way you can get a machine to host a dedicated server? im sure it wouldnt be a big problem since CS is a bit old. A high end killer rig is not needed. just a decent machine with THG fast connection... and we need a website...

its not likely that thg will want to get into game hosting, i did some looking around and found a couple companys that will host. wshost.net is expensive, homelanfed.com is decently priced, hundred bucks a month for a 15 player game i think, thats still a little pricey, the best way to go would pick some one with a phat conection that would be willing to host it. i dont have a problem hosting it, i have a computer that can be dedicated but my connection is capped at 16.

well i live in a boarding school which has DUAL T1....BUT only a small percent of that bandwitdh is for students... :frown: . i can barely play cs on other servers and have a ping under 150. so i cant host. plus my schools shuts down servers every once in a while so i couldnt be a reliable server
